While I'm sure there is a good reason for creating multiple calendars, it's all I can do to stay up to date with one. However, for those of you who create multiple calendars, you must share them for them to show up to the free/busy connector which is used to schedule events.
This post is related to the last post I penned on creating a personal calendar. In this case, we want to, in effect, turn a personal calendar into a shared calendar. That is, the events you are scheduling on these calendars will indicate you are not available for events.
Open "Settings" on your GMail Calendar as shown in the accompanying image.
Open "Settings" on your GMail Calendar as shown in the accompanying image.
In the list of calendars, click on the "Sharing" link. You are going to have to do this for each and every one of your additional calendars to make them visible.
Check the box that says "Share this calendar with everyone..." if you want everyone to see you are unavailable for meetings. Make sure "See only free/busy (hide details) is selected. (This would be the preferable choice.)
Alternatively, you can just give viewing rights to a specific person by adding their email address in the "Share with specific people" area.
If you want folks to see exactly what you are doing, you would select "Show details" when you create your shared setting.

You now need to grab this weird looking link and email it to the person(s) who need to see the calendar. (I was able to copy and paste this link directly into the affected calendars because I have administrator rights to the domain.)
The link needs to be pasted in this box (it says, in greyed out type, "Add co-workers calendar")
The only "problem (?)" is that now the calendar is listed under "Other calendars". But it's easy to get rid of it.
Go to the "Settings" for "My calendars". These settings control what you see when looking at your calendar.
Under the list of all the calendars to which you have access, uncheck the boxes next to the calendars you do not want to see. You will still have access to the free/busy information, they just won't clutter up your screen.
So...I've got to give a big shout out to Sinead, without whose help, I would have continued to flounder in the abyss that is "The Internets". Google support is running a VERY CLOSE SECOND to Apple Tech Support, simply the best in the world.
